As a part of the second privatisation wave, it is planned to sell 877 companies, including 215 assets owned by Samruk-Kazyna JSC. The largest among them NAC Kazatomprom JSC, Air Astana JSC, Samruk-Energy JSC, NC KazMunaiGas JSC, Kazpost JSC and NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC will go public.
"The privatisation of national companies allows us to bring not only international investment from large investment companies, but also adopt best corporate governance practices, good management, efficiency, transparency and strategic positioning of our companies in the international market," Umirzak Shukeyev, CEO of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, said during the Kazakhstan Investor Day in Hong Kong.
The Fund’s management team presented the development strategy for Samruk-Kazyna’s portfolio companies and the Fund’s new approach to managing its assets. The Fund focuses in particular on its transformation, which will help to attract more investors to Kazakhstan's large business.
